Foreigner´s Health Insurance for Necessary and Urgent Care
Health insurance for foreigners is necessary for foreigners who are not citizens of a member state of the European Union and, at the same time, cannot participate in the Czech public health insurance system. This insurance meets the requirements of Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the Residency of Foreigners in the Czech Republic, as amended, and is recognized by the bodies of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic.
An integral part of this insurance is a high-quality and non-stop assistance service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the Czech, English and Russian languages.
Health insurance for foreigners in case of necessary and urgent care is intended for foreigners who intend to stay in the Czech Republic for a maximum period of 90 days and apply for a short-term visa, or intend to reside in the Czech Republic for more than 90 days and apply for a long-term visa or long-term residency permit. This insurance is sufficient if the visa application is submitted to the Embassy of the Czech Republic abroad.
The insurance is valid in the extent of necessary and urgent care throughout the Schengen area.
The insurance covers:
■ necessary and urgent examinations needed to establish the diagnosis and medical procedure
■ outpatient prescription medications
■ dental treatment in case of acutely painful dental conditions
■ transport to a health-care facility
■ repatriation of the insured person, including the transport of remains to the home country of the insured person
The insurance does not cover “regulatory fees” in a health-care facility for the insured person.
